Scott Gerard was a core team member and crucial design, engineering and analytics contributor to our IoT Eldercare project. His technical skills and creativity made the difference time and again. Scott’s data analytics skills are first rate, and his willingness to “dive in” and generate solutions to the project’s many practical and operational challenges led to his receiving a coveted performance award. We won’t start another IoT project without him.
Sam Adams, IBM Distinguished Engineer, MetaCognitive Technology
Scott is an incredible problem-solver. He built the entire server-side infrastructure for our project based on a large, contextual, reactive, graph database and Kafka streaming, and automated everything for quick turn around for feedback and new requests. After deploying over 1000+ sensors in a care facility in Oregon, we worked closely together to infer Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) from the large unlabeled IoT dataset captured, using both rule-based and machine learning-based approaches. We published two academic papers describing our work and filed several patent applications based on our novel approaches.
